Preferred pharmacy network
Your Blue MedicareRx nationwide pharmacy network includes more than 60,000 locations that offer preferred cost-sharing. Your copay and coinsurance amounts will usually be lower at these pharmacies compared to the same drugs purchased through a standard network pharmacy.
Not sure if you’re using a preferred pharmacy? Use the online Pharmacy Locator to find preferred and standard pharmacy locations near you. Choose your plan, then enter your address or zip code to find nearby pharmacies that accept your coverage.
CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy is also part of your plan’s preferred pharmacy network. Mail service is a safe, convenient option for filling 90-day supplies of your medications. 90-day supplies of all Tier 1 drugs are available for the same price as a 30-day supply at preferred retail pharmacies, and drugs in other tiers are available at significant discounts.1
Less expensive treatment options
Discussing less expensive treatment options with your doctor may save you money. With thousands of prescription drugs on your Blue MedicareRx plan formulary, there are often multiple drugs available that treat the same condition safely and effectively. The Blue MedicareRx Drug Pricing Tool or the Drug Cost and Coverage Tool available at Caremark.com may suggest an alternative to the drug you are pricing if there is another covered drug that is very similar.
It can be helpful to take a printed copy of your formulary with you for reference when you visit your doctor. If you and your doctor decide that a different drug would be appropriate for your treatment, you will need a new prescription.
